Statement of Faith
A. Inspiration and inerrancy of Scripture
It is the conviction of the church leadership that all Scripture is inspired by God and is without error and therefore applicable to every area of life.
B. The deity of Jesus
It is the conviction of the church leadership that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, is the second person of the Trinity of God’s Son, was crucified, buried, and arose the third day according to the Scriptures. This conviction also holds Christ Jesus to be the Messiah of the world and the hope of all Christians everywhere.
C. The Trinity
We believe, as stated in I John 5:7, that there is one God who has manifested Himself in a Trinity of three persons as follows: God, the Father, God, the Son, and God, the Holy Spirit.
D. Salvation by grace through faith in Christ
We believe, as stated in Romans 5:1-2, that all men are saved only by trusting in Christ, by faith, through the provisions of His grace.
E. The total depravity of man
We believe, as stated in Romans 3:23, that all men are born into the world as sinners, as a result of Adam’s fall in the garden, and must be transformed by God’s grace to overcome this depravity.
F. Holiness of believers
Holiness, often termed as Entire Sanctification, is that work of the Holy Spirit by which the child of God is cleansed from all inherited sin through faith in Jesus Christ. It is subsequent to Salvation, and is received when the believer presents himself a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God (Romans 12:1), and is thus enabled through grace to love God with all the heart and to walk in His holy commandments blameless, which is the life of holiness.
G. The separation of believers
We believe, as stated in Romans12:2, that we are not to be conformed into the world’s ways of thinking and living. We are called to be transformed into the likeness of Christ while we live in this world.
H. The second advent of Christ
We believe, as stated in John 14:2-3, that just as Jesus came the first time, He has promised to return the second time to receive His saints into His presence. Matthew 24:30 foretells Christ’s judgment on the earth at the time of his second advent.
I. The eternal state of believers and unbelievers
We believe, as stated in Matthew 13:41-42 and John 14:2-3, that all believers will live in eternal bliss in heaven with Christ Jesus and that all unbelievers will be punished in Hell with Satan and his angels.
J. The personality of Satan
We believe, as stated in I Peter 5:8, that the devil is a created being who is continually seeking our destruction and must be resisted by all the saints.
We believe, as stated in the Genesis account, that God is the Creator of the earth and all connected universes. John 1:3 states that “…all things were made by Him and without Him was not any thing made that was made.”
L. Human Sexuality
We believe, as stated in Hebrews 13:4, that the only acceptable sexual fulfillment in the eyes of God is to be found within the marriage covenant. Genesis 2:24 describes marriage as one man and one woman joined together as one flesh. Within these guidelines, intimacy is meant to be for the bonding of both husband and wife and the procreation of the human race.
We believe that life begins at conception, and any intervention after life has begun violates the sovereignty of God. The only justifiable exception for terminating a pregnancy would be to save the life of the mother after it became evident that no other medical options were available.
N. Lawsuits between believers
We believe, as stated in I Corinthians 6:5-7, that brothers and sisters in Christ are forbidden in Scripture to go to public courts of law to settle disputes that arise. They are admonished to seek out wise council in the church to aid them in settling their disputes.
